LAYER AND LAYER EFFECTS

LAYERS AND LAYER EFFECTS

BEFORE:

AFTER:

METHOD:

I did this by clicking the square selection tool and dragging it over the whole tree. I then deleted it and replaced what was included in the picture to content-aware colours. By clicking on Content-Aware I made the computer look at what is around the edges of what was included in my box.

Because the area that I selected was so big, the computer overthought the action and copied area from the field instead of sky.

To solve this problem i did the same thing to this piece of grass. The result below shows the result of that. I then did this on any space that looked unnatural which resulted in the AFTER image above.

Logo - Brit School and Associates

Logos
This is the process I went through to change the logo on the left into the logo on the right.

First, I double clicked onto each layer and changed the size of the inner shadow to around 27 px. This changes the inside of the lettering and shapes to make them darker with shadows inside the actual shapes.
Then I created a new layer by pressing the new layer button that looks like a post-it note below.. In this new layer I scribbled in multiple colours like the in the image below. I then clicked on the button next to the opacity metre and clicked overlay. I also dragged the layer and chose Soft Light.

Composition

Composition helps the picture look better. There are various methods of using composition to your advantage. Two rules that help composition are The Rule Of Thirds and The Golden Triangle.

The Rule Of Thirds.

The Rule Of Thirds is a principle in design and photography that breaks down the image both horizontally and vertically so that there are 9 parts. Objects are places on one of these lines to make it more visually interesting.

In this picture I remodelled that goal so it ws all in the rule of thirds

The Golden Triangle.

The Golden Triangle is

Resizing an image

Resizing an Image

First,  Find your image on a search engine and then drag it to your desktop.

Then drag it onto Photoshop  so you can start editing.

Go to Image>Image Size or click Alt, Command and I to access and be able to change the pictures image size.

You can now access image size and adjust Width, Height and Resolution.

If you un-tick the Resample box you can only adjust one factor and the rest is on a ratio to it so it changes automatically

When you leave the resample button ticked you can see how the pixels themselves have been enlarged or shrunk. Without the button ticked, the pixels are analysed and matched with a colour on another pixel surrounding it. These two colours are given a colour in-between and a new pixel is generated. This happens to every single pixel while the picture is being enlarged or shrunk.
